Lindsay and I decided to donate to "The Denise House" in Oshawa. The Denise House is an Emergency Shelter for Abused Women and Their Children. We are donating some Canned Food, Pots, Kitchenware, Clothes, and Toys from the kids . Drop off is only on Wednesdays at their warehouse on Bond St. So this Wednesday April 7Th is when we'll drop off. Below is The Denise House Mission's Statement . It is Important..
It is important for abused women to be aware that not only is there help and support available to women who are presently in abusive relationships, but there is continued support once she leaves the relationship. A woman needs positive support whether it be from family, friends, or counsellors who understand the issues of abuse. Information about counselling agencies and support services who understand the issues of abuse can be obtained from a local shelter or family doctor. Surviving in an abusive relationship or leaving one can be terribly frightening. However, there is always continued support available. An abused woman does not need to be alone in her struggle for a life free from abuse.
